Customer Relationships

Adding Value to Customer Service - Librarians have customers and the way they built the relationship with the customer is critical to the library success. The role of the librarian is to add value to the experience. The consumer of today believes that customer service is declining. One reason for this is the rules have changed and they expect the librarian to be in tune with their perception of what makes a value experience. This presentation provides the ground rules for the new game of added value customer service. 

Merchandising to Grow Customer Satisfaction - The Dewey System may be a great system for a librarian, but it is not the answer if your aim is to get as many people as possible to use the library as a resource in the community.
Libraries have to be merchandised using the skills learned by the retailers and then adapted to thei library situation.
